Giveaway or Free Offers or Free Zone: You Decide

by fas on March 31, 2009 · 7 comments

Giveaway! Sounds like a good big prize is coming my way. Will give a try.

Free Offers! Nice. So I can get some nice offers which are free.

Free Zone! Wow, so the is a directory of free products. I wanna check out.

Confused. Well the above are my reactions when I hear the words Giveaway, Free Offers and Free Zone respectively.

I have decided to build a/many page(s) in which I will list some nice and free products which I want to share with you all. Some of the products will be made by me. There will be ebooks, software, information guides, SEO tools, Other useful tools, some resorces etc. You might have seen I am already giving a Free ebook [download id="1"]. It has been downloaded more than 230 times already, which is a great success for me.

Now this plan has a little problem. I am unable to decide what I should call these (the zone or pages). I am currently struck with three words/phrases. These are ‘Giveaway‘, ‘Free Offers‘ and ‘Free Zone‘. I think Free Zone is the best phrase for it. As you can see my reaction, it fits well for what I want to do.

But I do not want to decide everything by myself. I want you all to help me out. I want to choose on of the 3 phrases. Please decide intelligently. Wait I am going to provide some information which will help you.

First is Google Search Results

Conclusion: Giveaway looks least competitive.

Now lets have a look into Google Trends.

Below is the screenshot of the Trend Search I did.

Google Trends Result for Free Offers, Free Zone and Giveaway

Google Trends Region wise Result for Free Offers, Free Zone and GiveawayConclusion: Free Zone is good in the trends. When we see the trends region wise, Free Zone is well ahead of others except for United States.  In Australia Giveaway comes neck to neck with Free Zone. My Blog is mostly targeting India, UK and USA. So these results tell me to go with Free Zone.

I could only do this much research. Please help me with your expertise and decide what should I use. Remember one thing I want to go for Free Zone, as it sounds really cool to me. So my vote is already for Free Zone. Which one you think will work best? If you have some nice words beside these, than do share. If I use your suggestion I will link back to you.

I don’t think that it really matters about the Google search results for each of those keywords. It would be extremely difficult to have a good rank for any of those general keywords. :(

I agree with Etavasi, ‘Free Blogger Zone’ is a good idea.

Austin you are right. Actually I am more interested in Site Links in Google Search Results. I am thinking of future.Blogger Free Zone is a nice idea but the free items will not only be for bloggers. It will serve a greater audience and also Search Volume of Blogger Free Zone is very less compared to Free Zone.I will wait for more suggestions.

Well the zone will not be restricted by bloggers only. There will be many products.

According to me you should go with something very different! You can even frame your own keyword-phrase…
If you still wish to decide between the three keywords you are talking about, then the least competitive is the Best!

Good luck with this. Blogger free zone seems like a unique and interesting plan.
