Ok it’s a little tricky question to answer. Till now I feel it’s really difficult to answer. I am sure very good writers and blogger also cannot give any concrete answer to it. So I decided to give multiple answers and I want that you all actively participate and give your answer. Tell me what you all feel.
So here how it goes, I have some Virtual Persons here from different parts of my mind to answering this very question?
Agent 001: How long should be a post?
Person 1: A post with 400-500 words is very best. If any post gets longer you should split into parts. You will get more post and you do not have to worry about making posts for 2-3 days. And you can use your keywords better.
My View: Person 1 is really frank. I would mostly agree with him. I think he is the best person in my mind.
Person 2: A post of 250-300 words is best. You can say many things while not boring your readers. You can add some big picture to spice it up and it will look big.
My View: Person 2, seams really confident. Confidence rules the world. I cannot disagree with him.
Person 3: Size of the post does not matter. Long or short it should be very interesting and attract attention. Remember the secret is to attract.
My Views: So Person 3 is Happy Go Lucky personality. He sounds too care free but is intelligent. I remember of hearing of something called “Law of Attractionâ€.
Person 4: I believe long posts are good. A post with 600-700 or even 1000 words are good. You can express yourself well and explain without any restrictions on hesitations. It looks like it has been written by a professional writer. Do not worry about readers getting bored. Most readers will read it.
My Views: That’s a bold statement. Believe in your self and you will be loved. Person 4 is more egoistic.
Person 5: Ok so do I really have to answer. I do not like sharing my secrets. I will tell one thing. A post has to look like a post. Use pictures, use list type representation and use small paragraphs.
My Views: Person 5 is really Stupid Pundit (best in his field), do not want to share yet gave all the tips.
Ok my mind talks a lot. I wanted answer for the question mentioned above but I got many more things. I got different answers and some writing tip. Well friend I feel my mind is playing tricks with me. I believe you can answer this question better than me. You can choose one of the Person above and support him or give your own creative answers. Remember friends you answer will surely influence my writing.

Agent001 wow…omg you have 5 Virtual Persons, when you saying about this i suddenly remember Jack Sparrow pirate of the Caribbean, he can talk with his virtual person too hehe.. I think 5 answer can generate good idea for you.
For me it is depend on the writer, how they write to make people keep read, no need to think about feel bore because of too long in posting. Example, story book also contain more than 1000 words but people still love to read it. There is blog that always do post which is long but very good, and people like how he explain and keep read inside that blog. i think the length of the post would depend as to how you want to present your blog entry.. the important thing is, the thought you want to say is clearly relayed to the readers.. there are long post but has little message to relay.. and that makes this long post a little too annoying to read with the flowery words included just to lengthen the post.. i think direct to the point with a little detailing will do! there are short post that are successful enough to convey the message! i mean, it depends but be sure don’t make the reader just stumble in a circling message! they should not read a long post but seems paraphrasing each paragraph but actually conveys the same message.. hehe.. =)

I don’t think there is some kind of “minimum” for blog posts. As long as you can provide quality content, it’s good to go. Be that 100 words, or 1000 words. Some people can say the same thing in 10 words, while others in 100 words.

I think the length of the post depends on what you are writing about. Some posts really need to be elaborate.

As long as the post is attractive (and ‘Person 5′ gave a few tips on how to make it attractive), it will succeed.

Yes, I think that your blog posts have a lot to do with the content of your site and your typical audience. Any blog post that’s too long is just something someone won’t read over.I think if you’ve got that much info to share on a particular subject you might as well give it to your visitors in the form of an ebook.
