Show and Link to your Social Network Profile

Link to your Social Networking ProfilesThat simple, isn’t it. you just make a about page and put in the links to you profiles on Social Networking Websites like You Tube, Digg, Stumble Upon, Linked In etc.

You are damn right. But I am going to share with you something which will help you do linking to your Social Networking Websites automatically. Its easy and beautiful. And not to mention you can add new links or remove old link without requiring you to edit you page.

I have found two nice Word Press Plug-ins which will help you link to your Social Network Site.

About Me Plug-in

About Me WordPress plug-in is a sidebar widget that displays icon links to your profile pages on other social networking sites.  So you can put a widget in sidebar and people can visit your social profiles and connect with you there. The links are tagged rel=”me”. If you want to just put your Social Network Profile link (rather say icons) then this a great solution for you.

Social Media Page Plug-in

Social Media Page WordPress plug-in will add a list of links to your social media profiles on a page or post of your choice. This plug-in also creates a widget that will display your social media profiles in the side bar of your site. It has a SEO feature too – When the links are displayed on the page it will use a keyword of your choice as the text for the link. Also you can add nofollow to the links. It also include social icons. Supports more than 100 different Social Networks. If you want both Sidebar Widget and the ability to add Social Network Links to any page or post, this the solution.

Advantages of using the above plug-ins over doing things manually

  • No need to edit your theme.
  • Just add/remove links and the changes appear on the blog.
  • Beautiful icons are supported.

I recommend using the second plug-in, Social Media Page. It alows you to put links on pages and posts. It will be useful to revamp you About Me page. If you like to put links on sidebar it comes with that option too.

Ya sure. We don’t need plugins. I mentioned it in first line. But you will know how comfortable is the plug-in after you try it once.

Using the plug-in you can put the links on many pages and when you need to add one more link no need to edit the pages just add link through your dashboard.

Now if we only has a way to automate the creation of the Social Networking profiles themselves, we’d be all set.

Thats very difficult task. Every Social Network has different sign-up forms and not to forget captcha or other verification, so creation of social profiles is rather difficult.
