The Famous Five Book 3 - Five Run Away TogetherThe Famous Five is one of my favorite books, well it a series of 21 books written by Enid Blyton. And finally I can read all the books from the seres (actually not all but most). I recently got 16 of the books from market. Before I tell you more about the book I want to tell you my history with The Famous Five book.

It was my class X th when I first stumbled upon this book in my school library. There were only 2 or 3 books only. I am great fan of Mystery and Suspense stories. This book just linked to my heart. I wanted to read the rest of the books from the series but as I was living in small town I had no chances of getting it in local book store. I also didn’t knew from where I can order it from. Any ways my parents won’t have allowed me to invest money in these books.

I almost forgot about the book in long run until recently I saw the book in Big Bazaar ( Its a type of Mall in India). I saw only few of the volumes, I called the sales person (I am not sure what they are called) and said I want to buy the whole series and asked where are the rest of the books. He told me to wait and he rushed into their storeroom and got me all the books he found. Though the set was not complete (16 out of 21 books) but I didn’t wanted to lose the chance. I quickly calculated the price and bought all the books. I got 20% discount as well and the total cost went up to Rs 1080 (each book was priced Rs 85). I was lucky that I had the money that time (I was there to buy a shirt).

Did I bore you with my story? I hope not. Lets move into details of the book The Famous Five.

Name of the Book: The Famous Five

Author of the Book: Enid Blyton

Genre: Adventure & Mystery

General Audience: Children

Main Characters in the book: Four children Julian, Dick, Anne and George — and their dog Timmy.

About the book: Have you seen Scooby Doo cartoon? Thats the story of The Famous Five. Scooby Doo is considered to have taken the idea of character from The Famous Five . Actually they have similar kind of story. In Famous Five the five (Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy) go on adventuring, find something mysterious and end up solving the mystery and catch bad people like kidnappers, smugglers etc. Same happens in Scooby Doo as well but there are always fake ghosts involved and there is Scooby Snacks. Any ways The Famous Five is very Nice book. If you love mystery and stuffs you find it very interesting. And remember read it before you get old.

Know More Facts: The Famous Five is quite famous series and I think many of you might have heard of it. There were two TV series of Famous Five in 1978 and 1996. Also there is a new animated TV series Famous 5: On The Case. It started in 2008. This series is not about the actual Famous Five characters but of their children. There are two more writers who wrote book on Famous Five. Read more about Famous Five in details from Wikipedia. You can buy The Famous Five book from Amazon at low cost.

NOTE: This is my first Book Review. Please tell me how I did. If there is something I can do to improve. Was any part unnecessary (except my story – I won’t be doing it in future)

Not copied. Only the basic idea of characters were taken. The idea of having 2 boys, 2 girls and a dog as the main characters.
