I think I am crazy. I just followed 17 people on Twitter and I do not know 16 of these people. Neither do I need to follow them. I never heard of any of them before except one.
Then why the hell did I follow them?
Hmm! probably I am crazy. But wait maybe I am not. What I earned by following these people is something that really matters to me. Before I tell you why did I followed 17 people, Lets have a look at the list of the Twitter Users I followed.
Here is the List with the number of followers they have.

I know/recognize only one person on the list and that is Barack Obama, the President of the United States of America. He has a large number of followers. He has nearly 1,005,883 followers. As you can see all the people I am following has a follower base of 69,000 or more. They have such a large followers base. Other than that there is nothing which may inspire me to follow them. Ya! thats right I am following these people as thay have so many followers. Its like I want be a drop in their ocean of followers.
- But is it profitable to me?
- Won’t I receive more tweets that before?
- Will I need to invest more time for twitter?
- Does following them make any real sense?
- Am I crazy?
I think I have already answered the last question. I am really crazy to be following them. As far as getting tweets and time. It does not matter. I have fixed plan for it. As par making sense, well nothing in this world make sense until you find your own way of seeing things or using things. I kinda sound Philosophical. As per as being profitable, it has its own gains. I feel like this is the answer you wanted to know.
So what gains I got?
I thing for sure its not about money. When I speak of gain on Twitter, it will always mean increase in number of followers. Yes! there is a large increase in the number of followers I have. As par the latest updates I have 420 followers. Yesterday, 24hrs ago I had only 321 followers. Lets do some simple maths and find the difference. If I am not wrong (I am a student of Mathematics Department), the difference is 99. So its increase of 99 followers in 24hrs and its nearly 30.8411215% increase (I used calculator and I am from Mathematics Department).
Haha….Thats a type of gain I have always wanted. What do you think isn’t it satisfying enough? So at last I am not crazy. You can follow me on Twitter @GreatestReviews

Hi! I found you on BlogCatalog and then went to your twitter account and that’s how I got there! I’m following your list to see what it does. My problem is to know who is really following me… And I’d like to make groups of people I’m following because it’s just impossible to follow everybody. Any program to do that?
Wow, Obama has twitter account as well. I’m excited to see what he tweet in twitter, but I think that’s not exactly what he wrote but his secretary or anyone else? lol!

Well there is really no way to know if people are really following you. You can only know if they reply or RT any of your tweet.
If you want you can group people you are following. I advice you use Tweet Deck. Google for it. It is a desktop software. I use it and have made 2-3 groups and put 20-30 users I really know, into each of them. When their’s tweets come I can see them separately, thus I never miss any tweet. I will write a review on Tweet Deck soon.

I have mixed opinions on following celebrities like such.
You are definitely right, you will get a few extra followers by following them.
Do you really want your tweetstream filled with their crap, though?
I found that I followed WAY too many people way to fast. It got me a good amount of followers, but it’s ruining the way that I use Twitter. Everything that I get is spam.
I’m working to fix it by unfollowing people that I don’t need to follow (like those above).
It all depends on why you want to use Twitter, I guess.
Well. I am not currently looking for the quality thing. I want more quantity now. You see, most of people think that we need to quality followers but I thing for sure there is only two ways to get the quality. Either influence people so much that they blindly follow you (its impossible for me) or increase you follower base by some way and let people think you are actually good (its easy).
I use Twitter for traffic. And having more followers certainly mean traffic.

The best thing about Obama’s account is that it will follow you back. Following high profile people is good if you want to frankly get informed about their activities, but expecting ReTweets would me a mistake. Also, rarely people see the followers of such people because they know that Half of the followers of such people are Spammers.
Ya Spammers part is very true. I am not taking here about quality but quantity.
